BAPS Charities Walk-Run 2026 in Chicago, IL

As America prepares to commemorate its 250th anniversary, BAPS Charities hosted the 2026 Spirit of Service Walk-Run, uniting more than 50,000 participants in over 100 cities across the United States and Canada for a nationwide celebration of service, civic engagement, and community well-being. The initiative helped launch the America250 celebrations by putting compassion and volunteerism into action. 

On May 30, 2026, BAPS Charities hosted its annual “Spirit of Service: Walk-Run” in Bartlett, IL, bringing together nearly 1,400 participants for a day dedicated to service, health, and community engagement. The event encouraged individuals and families to come together in support of the People’s Resource Center, helping raise awareness for food insecurity. 

Participants of all ages joined the walk-run, reflecting the community’s shared commitment to giving back. The event also welcomed Jeni Fabian, CEO of People’s Resource Center, who joined volunteers and supporters to show solidarity with the cause.  Reflecting on the impact of the event. Ms. Fabian shared, “I have experienced such joy in the conversations that I’ve been able to have with new friends today. This is such a wonderful community, and we’re honored that BAPS Charities has included People’s Resource Center as this year’s local beneficiary.  The help today from the walkathon will help support our food pantry and social services throughout the year.”

Through more than 1,200 walkathons organized over the past two decades, BAPS Charities has supported meaningful causes while fostering unity, compassion, and well-being in communities. As America250 approaches, the BAPS Charities Spirit of Service Walk-Run demonstrates how volunteerism and civic engagement can bring communities together and inspire future generations.
