Women’s Health Lecture on Digestive Health in Columbus, OH

BAPS Charities hosted a women’s health awareness lecture on digestive health in Columbus, OH, on September 7, 2025, to inform and educate attendees on its impact on the whole body. The lecture emphasized the significance of digestive health, highlighting that the gut is home to trillions of microorganisms—bacteria, viruses, and fungi—that play a crucial role in digestion, immunity, metabolism, and even mood regulation. According to the Cleveland Clinic, an imbalance in this “gut ecosystem,” also known as dysbiosis, has been linked to conditions ranging from diabetes and heart disease to depression and autoimmune disorders.

During the lecture, Chaitali Amin explained the signs of a healthy gut, including steady energy levels, good sleep patterns, and minimal digestive discomfort. Attendees were introduced to practical strategies to maintain gut wellness. These included prioritizing fiber-rich fruits and vegetables, incorporating fermented foods, staying hydrated, managing stress, avoiding unnecessary antibiotics, taking probiotics, and getting adequate rest. The lecture emphasized that dietary choices and lifestyle habits directly impact the microbiome, and small changes can go a long way in supporting long-term digestive and overall health. The event empowered attendees to take small but meaningful steps toward strengthening their gut health, underscoring BAPS Charities’ commitment to holistic well-being.
