Health Fair 2019 in Washington, DC

On September 22, 2019, BAPS Charities hosted the annual health fair in Washington D.C. Over 750 individuals benefited from the volunteer services provided by 137 volunteer physicians, nurses, and other medical professionals. These volunteers helped educate participants on preventative care and provide quick tips to improve general health as well as their mental wellbeing.

The health fair is one of many efforts by BAPS Charities to promote health and wellness in local communities. BAPS Charities also hosts annual blood drives and marrow drives across the country and hosts a special Children’s Health and Safety day focused on activities and information for young children and their parents.

 Opinions:

I have been to many other health fairs in the state of Maryland, and BAPS Charities Health Fair is the very best. Very well organized. It takes a lot of time, effort, and commitment to do this kind of volunteer work. I really applaud all volunteers.
– Dr. Arun Bhandari, Oncologist, and Chair of the Maryland State Board of Physicians

BAPS Charities is an extraordinary operation and charity. You have touched my heart because what you do is critical to improving so many lives. Your commitment is huge.
– Maryland State Senator Guy Guzzone (District 13)

This is just an amazing example of the community coming together. I’m amazed and overwhelmed by the pure size of it, and that you have so many people in the community willing to give up their time, give up their resources, and come together to help their fellow citizens and neighbors.
– Jennifer Smith, Vice President of Development for Howard Hospital Foundation

There is a dire need for spiritual connection and sense of community [for achieving positive health outcomes] – this is where I have seen BAPS Charities make great contributions. Every time I come here, I feel a sense of blessing as I walk in.
– Dr. Vanila Singh, Clinical Associate Professor at Stanford University
