On Saturday, August 23, 2025, BAPS Charities organized a community blood and bone marrow drive in Fresno, California, with support from the Central California Blood Center and Assemblymember David Tangipa. The event brought together volunteers, donors, and healthcare professionals with one shared mission—to save lives by donating blood and expanding the bone marrow registry.
A total of 41 individuals donated 41 pints of blood, potentially saving 123 lives, positively impacting patients in local hospitals who depend on lifesaving transfusions. Additionally, 15 people joined the bone marrow registry, thereby increasing the chances for patients in need of a life-saving transplant to find a match.
Assemblymember Tangipa highlighted the impact of participation, noting, “Just by giving a pint of blood, you can save a life.” Dr. Krunal Sherathiya, a local pediatric dentist, emphasized the unique importance of blood donation, adding, “Blood is something only people can give—there’s no substitute—and routine donations ensure hospitals always have the supply needed for emergencies, surgeries, and patients in critical care.”
