COVID-19 Pandemic: Donation of N95 facemasks and non-perishable food in Connecticut

The number of COVID-19 cases continue to rise in many parts of Connecticut and healthcare facilities combating the pandemic face possible shortages of personal protective equipment (PPE). The lack of PPE seriously affects the ability of healthcare professionals to protect themselves as they care for patients with COVID-19. In support of healthcare professionals, BAPS Charities volunteers in Milford, CT organized a drive for PPE and donated 1,000 N95 facemasks and disinfectant items to the Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT. The hospital greatly appreciated the donation of these much-needed items.

As the United States copes with COVID-19, food accessibility has become a major concern, especially for needy families. In aid of these families, BAPS Charities volunteers in Newington, CT organized a food drive and donated 900 non-perishable food items to the Newington Department of Human Services in Newington, CT. Mayor Beth DelBuono, Town of Newington, CT, was immensely thankful for the donation and said, “A huge thank you to BAPS Charities. Your hard work and support of our community is so very appreciated.”
