As America prepares to commemorate its 250th anniversary, BAPS Charities hosted the 2026 Spirit of Service Walk-Run, uniting more than 50,000 participants across over 100 cities in the United States and Canada in support of local nonprofit organizations. The nationwide initiative helped launch the America250 celebrations by putting community service and civic pride into action.
On June 6, 2026, the BAPS Charities Walk-Run in Hatfield, PA, brought together nearly 700 participants for a day dedicated to service, health, and community engagement. The event encouraged individuals and families to come together in support of the Hatfield Volunteer Fire Company and Lansdale VFW Post 32, helping to raise awareness of local first responders and veteran support initiatives. Participants of all ages took part in the walk-run, reflecting the community’s shared commitment to service and giving back. The event also welcomed Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, Senator Maria Collett, Representative Steve Malagari, and Commissioner Tom Zipfel, who participated alongside volunteers and supporters to show their solidarity with the cause.
Reflecting on the event’s impact, representatives from both beneficiary organizations expressed deep gratitude for the community’s support. Dean Mininger, President, Hatfield Volunteer Fire Company, shared, “This incredible turnout and support directly strengthens our ability to protect and serve Hatfield, ensuring our volunteers have the resources they need to keep our neighbors safe.” Simultaneously, Commander Jeff Palmer from Lansdale VFW Post 32 noted, “Seeing the community come together like this shows our veterans that their sacrifices are truly remembered and appreciated, providing vital support for our ongoing local programs.
Through more than 1,200 walkathons organized over the past two decades, BAPS Charities has supported meaningful causes while fostering unity, compassion, and well-being in communities.
