Season of Service 2025: BAPS Charities in Los Angeles serves 750 hot meals on Skid Row in partnership with SevaSphere

During the month of December 2025,  BAPS Charities, through its annual Season of Service initiative, partnered with SevaSphere in Los Angeles to bring warmth, nourishment, and care to unhoused community members during the winter season. Volunteers came together to prepare and distribute hot meals and essential supplies, transforming a simple act of service into a moment of dignity and human connection. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to compassion-in-action—meeting urgent needs while fostering community and hope.

Through this effort, BAPS Charities donated and helped distribute:

  • 750 hot pasta meals
  • 700 bottles of water
  • 550 cups of hot chocolate
  • 700 pieces of fresh fruit
  • 200 winter gloves
  • 500+ medical supplies

These items addressed both immediate nourishment and winter wellness, ensuring neighbors stayed warm, hydrated, and cared for during colder nights. Volunteers also took time to engage with recipients, reinforcing that service is as much about presence and respect as it is about provisions.

Reflecting on the partnership, the SevaSphere founder Ambika Sanjana shared, “When organizations come together with a shared heart for service, the impact multiplies. This collaboration with BAPS Charities allowed us to reach more people with not just meals, but warmth, dignity, and care—exactly what community-centered service should look like.” Together, BAPS Charities and SevaSphere continue to demonstrate how collaboration can turn compassion into meaningful, life-affirming action.

BAPS Charities has organized similar community service initiatives to support local communities across North America. During the fall and winter holiday season, BAPS Charities conducted several community drives to assist families and individuals in need, including food, coat, flu vaccination, toy, and school supply drives.
