As part of Season of Service 2025, BAPS Charities Los Angeles donated over 500 pounds of food to Shepherd’s Pantry to support individuals and families impacted by the recent government shutdown. During the shutdown, many vulnerable community members—including low-income families, contract employees, seniors on fixed incomes, and families already facing food insecurity—experienced sudden gaps in income and access to essential resources.
The food donation helped Shepherd’s Pantry continue serving those most affected, ensuring families could access nutritious meals during a period of uncertainty and financial strain. Through this effort, BAPS Charities volunteers reinforced the spirit of seva—selfless service—stepping in where the need was greatest and standing alongside community partners to provide stability, dignity, and hope during challenging times.
