COVID-19 Pandemic: 300 essential supply bags donated to Senator Ling Ling Chang’s office to support the seniors

On April 22, 2020, BAPS Charities donated 300 essential supply bags to the office of Senator Ling Ling Chang (CA – 29th Dist.) to provide daily necessities to vulnerable seniors. The supply bags included everyday essentials, including toilet paper, canned goods, and snacks. Government authorities have advised that the senior community may face severe disruption in food supply and access due to the senior population’s vulnerability to the coronavirus.

Senator Chang, who represents areas of Los Angeles, Riverside, Orange, and San Bernardino Counties, expressed her gratitude. “I want to thank BAPS Charities for working with us to be able to put together bags of groceries and daily necessities for our seniors. It is heartwarming to see our high school and college students coming together to work for the benefit of all members of our community. You know, there’s been an outpouring of support and that that is heartwarming to see especially in this pandemic”.

Brian Johsz, the Vice Mayor of the City of Chino Hills, was also present during the donation to express his support for BAPS Charities and their efforts to help the local, senior population in this time of need. BAPS Volunteers continue to welcome the opportunity to serve the crucial needs of the senior community in order to help them stay healthy and safe.
