Earth Day 2016 in Miami, FL

The year 2021 will duly mark the 50th anniversary of the Earth Day initiative, symbolizing an undeterred commitment of individuals for making a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable planet for all. As we inch closer to this celebration, our support remains integral to Earth Day’s ambitious goal of planting 7.8 billion trees this year under the theme: Trees for the Earth – Let’s get planting. On April 23, 2016, BAPS Charities in Miami,FL participated in Earth Day activities by planting over 13 shrubs, and trees.

It is critical to acknowledge the accelerating destruction of the world’s forests that threatens our planet’s ecological and economic health. Trees help combat climate change by absorbing carbon dioxide, one of the greenhouse gases responsible for global warming and thus help us breathe clean air. This year, BAPS Charities will support The Nature Conservancy’s efforts to plant and restore over 1.6 million acres of land by planting one billion trees by 2025 through their Plant aBillion Trees initiative. BAPS Charities Walk in over 50 cities in North America will support the planting of 70,000 trees in 2016.

From recycling efforts to water conservation efforts and renewable energy solutions, BAPSCharities has internationally undertaken numerous projects with a moral commitment to our planet. Together, these initiatives will make a significant and measurable impact on the Earth.
