In conjunction with the US Department of Health and Human Services, BAPS Charities organized Affordable Care Act – Awareness & Enrollment Drives across North America as part of its initiative to promote health and wellness awareness throughout the community.
On February 8, 2015, approximately 85 participants benefitted from the Awareness & Enrollment Drive held in New York, NY. In accordance with the Affordable Care Act, individuals need to avail themselves of health insurance by the enrollment deadline of February 15, 2015.
As part of the event, enrollment specialists from the Department of Health and Human Services were on hand to provide attendees with personal guidance on understanding the entire enrollment process. Assistance was given on navigating the healthcare exchange websites as well as determining the best possible plan to individual needs.
