Health Fair 2009 in Parsippany, NJ

BAPS Charities aims to serve individuals, families and communities in need by providing high quality, low cost health care. 

Annual health fairs are at the core of BAPS Charities’ medical services. Physicians and technicians regularly volunteer their expertise to provide medical care and advice to the increasing number of people who lack access to quality health care. 

In 2008, BAPS Charities Health Fairs were organized at 22 centers where 1034 health care professionals gave services to 7636 patients.

The health fair participants received the following medical screening services 

  1. Blood screening (160) 
  2. Height and weight BMI determination (182) 
  3. Blood pressure (155)
  4. Vision screening  (120) 
  5. Diabetic care counseling (115) 
  6. Pediatric consultations (21)
  7. Gynecological consultation (60)
  8. Pap smear, Breast cancer counseling (85)
  9. ENT examination (72) 
  10. EKG screening ( 65) 
  11. Chiropractic evaluation (80)
  12. Massage therapy (60)

Each participant received one to one counseling with the team of Internal Medicine doctors. Based on the screening, participants were advised to seek advice from specialist doctors.

Free Equipments / Material Distributed

Glucometer, medicine box and educational material on Brest cancer prevention, Mammogram and Pap smear.
