On May 31, 2025, BAPS Charities brought the community together in Portland, OR, for its annual “Spirit of Service: Walk-Run.” This inspiring event encouraged participants to step forward in support of Packed with Pride, raising awareness for food assistance programs that serve families in the Tigard-Tualatin School District—while promoting service and well-being.
With over 275 participants, the event welcomed individuals of all ages, including City of Tigard Councilors Maureen Wolf and Yi-Kang Hu, who joined in solidarity for the cause. Reflecting on the day’s impact, Kimmarie Baranco from Packed with Pride shared, “In this climate, this kind of community service and partnership is more important and necessary.”
The BAPS Charities Walk-Run in Portland is one of more than 100 similar events held across North America as part of a broader initiative benefiting local organizations. For over 20 years, BAPS Charities has organized more than 1,100 walks, making a meaningful impact in communities by supporting important causes and fostering a spirit of service and unity.
