Due to a series of severe winter storms there have been hundreds of canceled blood drives resulting in a critical shortage of blood. Dino M. DiStefano of the Community Blood Council said, “We need to make the community aware that we are in a crisis situation.”
The Community Blood Council of New Jersey, Inc. and Robbinsville Mayor Dave Fried asked residents, local businesses, schools, athletic leagues and other civic organizations to help by donating blood during the “Community For Life” drive on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the Robbinsville Senior Center. BAPS Charities responded by sending over 50 volunteers to the event to donate blood.
