The initiative helped launch the America250 celebrations by putting compassion and volunteerism into action.

On May 30, 2026, BAPS Charities hosted its annual “Spirit of Service: Walk-Run” in Salt Lake City, Utah, bringing together nearly 75 participants for a day dedicated to service, health, and community engagement. This inspiring event supported the many initiatives of BAPS Charities, which mobilizes the collective spirit of volunteers worldwide to serve individuals, families, and communities across five key areas: Community Empowerment, Educational Services, Environmental Protection and Preservation, Health and Wellness, and Humanitarian Relief. Together, these efforts inspire selfless service and help build stronger communities, a healthier nation, and a better world.

Participants of all ages joined the walk-run, reflecting the community’s shared commitment to giving back. The event also welcomed Chief of Police Kearns Precinct Levi Hughes as well as venture capitalist and serial entrepreneur Dinesh Patel, who participated alongside volunteers and supporters to show their solidarity for the cause.

Through more than 1,200 walkathons organized over the past two decades, BAPS Charities has supported meaningful causes while fostering unity, compassion, and well-being in communities. As America250 approaches, the BAPS Charities Spirit of Service Walk-Run demonstrates how volunteerism and civic engagement can bring communities together and inspire future generations.
