BAPS Charities organizes a wide range of community service initiatives that support local communities across North America. These efforts reflect an ongoing commitment to service and strong partnerships with local organizations.
During the fall and winter holiday season, BAPS Charities volunteers led several initiatives to support families and individuals in need, including food drives, coat drives, flu vaccination clinics, toy drives, and school supply drives. Along with providing essential resources, each effort helped foster unity and compassion among volunteers and community members. Across North America, these projects were tailored to address local needs.
In the San Francisco Bay Area, BAPS Charities volunteers came together to collect food for individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. Volunteers of diverse ages and backgrounds gathered approximately 1,800 canned and dried food items. The donations were delivered to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Palo Alto and the Tri-Valley Haven Food Pantry in Livermore. David Haubert of the Alameda County Board of Supervisors joined the volunteers for the donation at Tri-Valley Haven.
A representative from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs shared that the donations “allows the hospital to provide departing patients who face food insecurity with 2–3 days of shelf-stable food, easing their transition from hospital to home.”
The drive united children, teens, adults, and seniors in a shared effort to support those in need, build connections, and strengthen the spirit of community.
