On May 31, 2025, BAPS Charities brought the community together in Newark, CA, for its annual “Spirit of Service: Walk-Run.” This inspiring event encouraged participants to step forward in support of educational initiatives at Milpitas Unified School District, Dublin Unified School District, and Sunol Glen School.
The event welcomed individuals of all ages, including representatives from Assemblymember Alex Lee’s office, Alameda County Supervisor Elisa Márquez, Milpitas Mayor Carmen Montano, Newark Mayor Michael K. Hannon, and Chris Norwood, Board President and Senior Governing Board Member of the Milpitas Unified School District, who all joined in solidarity for the cause. Reflecting on the day’s impact, Chris Norwood shared, “We represent the most diverse district in the nation, and you are part of that. The Milpitas Unified School District is extremely proud to accept the support from BAPS Charities.”
