BAPS Charities organized a 20-day food drive in Tampa, Florida, in 2025, collecting and donating 966 pounds of non-perishable food items. The donation benefited A Kids Place, a safe haven for abused and neglected children, and will help support the organization’s efforts to provide nourishment and care to vulnerable young lives.
Food insecurity remains a serious concern across the United States. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), 13.5% of American households—approximately 18 million—faced food insecurity in 2023, up from 12.8% in 2022. Children are among the most affected, with nearly 14 million living in households struggling to access sufficient, affordable, and nutritious food. The USDA defines food insecurity as the lack of consistent access to adequate food, which can have lasting impacts on health and well-being.
Expressing gratitude, a representative from A Kids Place shared:
“On behalf of everyone at A Kids Place, we extend our heartfelt thanks to BAPS Charities for your incredible generosity and support. The donation of 966 pounds of food will go a long way in helping the children and families we serve. We are deeply touched by your commitment to community service and inspired by the love and care you bring to every effort. Thank you for making a real difference in the lives of so many.”
