On June 1, 2025, BAPS Charities brought the community together in New York, NY, for its annual Spirit of Service: Walk-Run. This inspiring event encouraged participants to step forward in support of the New York Police Department’s 109th Precinct Community Council, an organization that fosters collaboration between local law enforcement and residents to strengthen public safety and community trust. The event helped raise awareness for local safety initiatives and the importance of police-community partnerships, all while promoting service and well-being.
With over 550 participants, the event welcomed individuals of all ages, including New York State Senator John Liu, Assemblywoman Nily Rozic, Assemblyman Edward Braunstein, and New York City Councilwoman Sandra Ung, who joined in solidarity for the cause. Reflecting on the day’s impact, a representative from the New York Police Department’s 109th Precinct Community Council shared, “We’re grateful for the support and partnership of organizations like BAPS Charities that help bring our community together for a positive cause.”
