Winter Blanket Donation to Westcare Community Services in Western Sydney

BAPS Charities recently continued its dedication to making a positive difference for those in need by donating over 70 winter blankets to Westcare, a well-respected local charitable organisation in Penrith.

This generous gesture demonstrates BAPS Charities’ commitment to supporting local communities and their ongoing initiatives to assist those less fortunate during challenging times.

On Monday 28 July 2025, volunteers of BAPS Charities visited Westcare’s facility in Penrith to donate the blankets and meet with Mr. Andrew Paech, Director of Westcare Community Services. He shared that the blankets arrived at the best possible time, praised their high quality, and noted that Westcare is well placed to ensure they reach the individuals and families most in need.

Westcare delivers life-changing programs such as 1000 Safe Sleeps and the Nepean Homestart Program, which provide emergency accommodation, family support, and assistance to those experiencing homelessness or escaping domestic violence. Through these services, Westcare reaches some of the most vulnerable people in the community.

This marks the third consecutive year that BAPS Charities has supported Westcare through its winter blanket drive. Mr. Paech expressed his gratitude and shared that Westcare looks forward to these visits, valuing the strong and caring relationship built over time.

BAPS Charities is grateful for the opportunity to once again support Westcare in its mission to uplift lives. Every blanket donated represents more than physical warmth; it is a symbol of compassion, hope, and a shared commitment to a stronger, more caring community.
