On 30 May 2015, BAPS Charities participated in a tree plantation exercise during the Kampala Goes Green initiative, in collaboration with the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA). The activity aimed to promote environmental conservation and create a cleaner, greener city.
Volunteers planted trees in designated areas as part of the citywide campaign to increase green cover and raise awareness about the importance of environmental protection. The initiative emphasized the role of community participation in addressing climate change and improving urban sustainability.
The tree plantation exercise highlighted the shared commitment of BAPS Charities and KCCA to environmental stewardship. By supporting Kampala Goes Green, the initiative encouraged residents to take responsibility for preserving the environment for future generations.
This activity also served as an opportunity to inspire long-term environmental awareness among participants and the wider community. Tree planting initiatives such as this play a vital role in improving air quality, reducing urban heat, and supporting biodiversity.
Through such environmental initiatives, BAPS Charities continues to support sustainable development efforts that contribute to healthier communities and a greener urban landscape.
