BAPS Charities Nairobi hosted an awareness talk, “The Invisible Truth,” on 25 April 2026. More than 120 participants attended the event to learn about silent disabilities that often go undiagnosed. Many children with these conditions are wrongly labelled as “naughty” or “lazy.” The seminar challenged these misconceptions and promoted empathy and inclusion.
Mr. Josphat Gogani led the session. He is a special needs educator and psycho-educational analyst at Nairobi Waldorf School Trust. He spoke about autism, dyslexia, ADHD, emotional and behavioural disorders, and cerebral palsy. He also shared practical ways families and communities can support affected children.
The talk addressed stigma and highlighted how awareness can help prevent bullying. Participants engaged actively during the question-and-answer session and explored ways to create a more inclusive environment.
The strong turnout showed growing community interest in special needs awareness. The event reflected BAPS Charities’ commitment to education, service and compassionate community support.
