On Saturday, May 9, 2026, BAPS Charities, in collaboration with the Indian Doctors Association of Houston, successfully hosted the “Prioritize Your Wellness: Sleep & Heart Health Fair” in Houston, TX. The event brought together community members of all ages for a health fair focused on education, preventive care, and wellness awareness.
The health fair welcomed over 200 attendees and featured expert-led presentations by healthcare professionals specializing in sleep medicine, heart health, and preventive wellness. Participants gained valuable insights into the importance of quality sleep and its direct connection to overall cardiovascular health.
Attendees also had access to a variety of free health screenings designed to encourage early detection and proactive wellness management. Services included blood pressure and BMI checks, blood sugar testing for diabetes screening, and professional sleep apnea assessments conducted by trained healthcare volunteers.
Throughout the event, volunteers from BAPS Charities and members of the Indian Doctors Association of Houston worked together to provide educational resources, answer health-related questions, and guide participants toward healthier lifestyle choices.
Organizers emphasized the importance of community-centered healthcare initiatives that promote awareness, prevention, and access to wellness resources. The event highlighted how sleep health, often overlooked, plays a critical role in heart health, mental wellness, and overall quality of life.
“We are grateful to all the doctors, healthcare professionals, volunteers, and community members who made this event a success,” said Dr. Keyur Patel, one of the event organizers. “By bringing education and preventive screenings directly to the community, we hope to inspire individuals and families to take proactive steps toward healthier living.”
The “Prioritize Your Wellness: Sleep & Heart Health Fair” reflects the ongoing commitment of BAPS Charities to supporting community health and wellness through educational outreach and service initiatives across the region.
