Saturday 13 June 2026 marked another inspiring chapter for the Premvati Cup, the annual 5-a-side football tournament for young girls from across the UK. This year’s edition brought together 220 participants at Goals Perry Barr, Birmingham, where girls aged 6 to 13 from 18 cities and towns arrived eager to compete, learn, and enjoy a full day of football.
The morning opened with a warm welcome ceremony that set a calm but confident tone for the day ahead.
Once the matches began, the pitches quickly filled with determination and teamwork. Each team approached their matches with focus and enthusiasm, supporting one another through every pass, tackle, and goal. As the tournament progressed, the level of play rose steadily, with tightly contested matches leading up to the final rounds.
Throughout the day, families and supporters created a lively backdrop, offering constant encouragement from the sidelines. The Sideline Samp Challenge returned to the tournament this year, creating a lively background of samp-related activities and challenges, such as a shoutout board, for the girls to enjoy. Wellingborough were announced the winners of this award, with both groups and individuals demonstrating inspiring samp.
By the close of the tournament, the atmosphere was filled with pride and accomplishment. Across 71 matches, a total of 271 goals were scored. The smooth running of the event was made possible by 106 dedicated volunteers, whose organisation and commitment ensured that every participant had a positive experience.
The 2026 Premvati Cup once again highlighted the strength of unity (samp), friendly competition, and the joy that sport brings to young people. It was a day that celebrated growth, teamwork, and community both on and off the pitch.
