The rising costs of food, housing, fuel, and transportation are placing immense pressure on individuals and families across Canada. Children, single mothers, international students, and seniors are among the hardest hit, with many struggling to afford even the most basic necessity: food. Nearly 25% of Canadians live in food-insecure households, and this number is rising.
Recognizing the urgency of this issue, BAPS Charities organized food drives in Brampton, ON, donating more than 13,000 pounds of non-perishable food items to support local hunger-relief efforts in November 2025. On November 21, 2025, BAPS Charities donated more than 10,500 pounds of non-perishable food items to the Knights Table through the Brampton Food Hub. On November 27, 2025, BAPS Charities donated more than 2,500 pounds of non-perishable food items to Free For All Community Service, helping provide essential nourishment to individuals and families in need.
BAPS Charities also organized a Canada-wide Food Drive, bringing communities together in the spirit of service and compassion.
Karamat Jameel, Logistics Coordinator at Brampton Food Hub, said, “On behalf of Knights Table and Brampton Food Hub, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation of 10,512 pounds of non-perishable food items.
