Health Fair 2013 in Toronto, Canada

Annual Health Fairs are a key component of the health and wellness services BAPS Charities provides throughout North America.

On October 6, 2013, in Toronto, Canada20 physicians and 30 allied health professionals volunteered their expertise and time at BAPS Charities Health Fair to provide medical care and awareness to 350 people. Below are some of the highlights and data of the event:

Number of patients seen by specialty:   Internal Medicine/Family practice (200), Pediatrics (50), Orthopedics (300), Ophthalmology/Optometry (230), Podiatry (200), Dentistry (300), Physical Therapy (Physiotherapy) (200), Homeopathy (125), Yoga & Pranayam (150), Chiropractic education (175), Allergy & Asthma (20), Alzheimer’s Health (50)

Number of lab tests conducted:  Blood pressure (275), Obesity (180), Diabetic/glucose screening (275), Dental exam (300), Eye exam (300), and Bone density screening/DEXA (280)

Number of Screening & Diagnostic tests:  Blood pressure (39), Obesity (39), Diabetic/glucose screening (31), Dental exam (30), Eye exam (21)
