COVID-19 Pandemic: Donation of Food Relief Packs to Kiambu County – Nairobi, Kenya

On Tuesday, April 28, 2020 BAPS Charities donated 500 food relief packs to Kiambu County for further distribution to households in need within the county

While receiving the donation His Excellency James Nyoro – Governor, County Government of Kiambu noted, “While the County, the Country and the World fights this pandemic it is important that we take care of the less fortunate within the county. As much as the county is setting aside funds for relief distribution and setting up emergency facilities to cater for the pandemic the private sector and community need to support the nation. We are grateful of BAPS Charities to support Kiambu county by donating the food packs. These will go a long way to ensure that 500 families will have food on the table for at least a week. We are grateful and look forward to continued support from BAPS Charities in the future.”

“BAPS Charities has delivered 500 relief packs to the County Government of Kiambu and have committed to a further 500 packs in the coming weeks to support the initiative taken by His Excellency and his team. Each pack contains groceries that can support a family of 4 for 5-7 days. Kiambu County is one of the many counties that BAPS Charities is supporting across the country and will continue to do so within its’ capacity” said Sameet Patel, a BAPS Charities volunteer who was involved in the process of organizing the donation.
