COVID-19 Pandemic: Donations of Personal Hygiene Equipment to the Gigiri Divisional Police Headquarters – Nairobi, Kenya

On Friday, April 24, 2020 BAPS Charities donated Personal Hygiene Equipment to the Kenya Police, Gigiri Divisional Headquarters, Nairobi.  The masks, gloves and sanitizers will protect the health of police officers as they interact with community members across the city.

The donations included 40 litres anti-bacterial liquid soap, 20 litres hand sanitizer, 300 pairs latex gloves, 250pcs face masks, and 5 cartons of anti-bacterial bar soap.

While receiving the donation Richard Muguai, Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD) – Gigiri Division notes, “We would like to thank BAPS Charities for supporting the Kenya Police to ensure that our officers are enabled to carry out their duties while they are safe. This donation will also ensure that the public will also be safe when interacting with our officers or visiting our police stations and police posts. Thank you very much BAPS Charities.”

“We really appreciate the work the Police Officers are putting in to ensure that our country and its citizens are protected amidst this pandemic. BAPS Charities has played a small role in supporting our officers,” said Sameet Patel, a BAPS volunteer who was involved in the process of organizing the donation.

BAPS Charities has implemented these initiatives throughout the world to help frontline workers not only protect the health of others but also their own health and safety during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
