On May 24th 2025, BAPS Charities Uplifts SFS Primary School – Katani with Generous Donations and Heartfelt Hospitality.
SFS Primary School, established by the Missionaries of St. Francis De Sales, has stood as a beacon of education and opportunity for the Katani-Syokimau community. With over 900 students aged 4 to 15 years and a team of more than 30 dedicated teachers—many of whom volunteer—the school continues to shape young minds with care and commitment.
In a notable step forward, the school has recently launched a pioneering program to support girls with autism. This initiative reflects the school’s evolving mission to provide inclusive, specialized education for all children.
In support of this vision, BAPS Charities – Nairobi Chapter warmly hosted 90 students and 10 teachers from SFS Primary School for a meaningful visit. They were treated to a guided tour of the Mandir and exhibition, followed by a wholesome lunch in the spirit of unity and selfless service.
As part of its ongoing commitment to community development, BAPS Charities made a heartfelt donation of essential supplies to the school, recognizing the growing challenges posed by rising costs and declining donor support. The donation included:
-
550+ kg of staple food items – rice, beans, maize flour, sugar, and salt
-
70+ units of cooking oil and snack items
-
190 packets of sanitary towels, t-shirts, and girls’ dresses to support hygiene and personal care
-
120 water bottles, two boxes of exercise books, and compasses to aid learning and classroom activities
Father Joby, the school’s senior leader, described the experience and donation “a blessing from God,” reflecting the significance of such acts of compassion in these times.
BAPS Charities remains committed to uplifting communities and supporting educational institutions through meaningful service. Together, we continue to build brighter futures, one act of kindness at a time.
