BAPS Charities UK organised the Bhakti Cup 2026, a national indoor women’s cricket tournament, at Harrow Leisure Centre, London, bringing together participants from communities across the country for a day of spirited competition, teamwork, and fellowship.
The much-anticipated annual event welcomed 21 teams representing regions from throughout the UK. This year also marked the first participation of a women’s team from Southend-on-Sea, highlighting the continued growth of the tournament and its increasing reach among women in local communities.
The atmosphere throughout the day was filled with enthusiasm and anticipation. The opening ceremony was met with loud cheers and applause as players proudly wore their commemorative tournament shirts, while volunteers, umpires and supporters shared in the excitement of the occasion.
In the weeks and months leading up to the tournament, women from across the UK devoted themselves to regular training sessions, balancing professional, family, and personal commitments while developing their batting, bowling, and fielding skills. Their dedication, perseverance, and teamwork were evident in every match played throughout the day.
The group-stage fixtures showcased impressive talent, resilience, and sportsmanship. Even when teams faced elimination, players continued to encourage one another and contribute to the positive and vibrant spirit that characterised the tournament. Supporters created a lively atmosphere, enthusiastically applauding every run, wicket, and outstanding performance.
Following a series of closely contested matches, Watford A and Barnet B advanced to the final. The championship match delivered a thrilling conclusion to the tournament, with spectators closely following every delivery, shot, run and wicket in a tense and highly entertaining encounter. Watford A ultimately emerged victorious to claim the Bhakti Cup 2026 title.
