BAPS Charities Walk-Run 2025 in Boston, MA

On May 31, 2025, BAPS Charities brought the community together in Boston, MA, for its annual Spirit of Service: Walk-Run. This inspiring event encouraged participants to step forward in support of the Lowell Police Station and Tyngsboro Fire Station—raising awareness of the vital role local first responders play while promoting a culture of service and community well-being.

With more than 650 participants, the event welcomed individuals of all ages, including several distinguished guests and community leaders. Among them were Lowell Police Department Chief Greg Hudon, Deputy Chief Stephen Gendreau, and 29 members of the Lowell Police Academy; State Representatives Rodney Elliot and Vanna Howard; Lowell City Councilors Rita Mercier and Vesna Nuon; Tyngsboro Fire Department Assistant Chief Pat Sands; and Tyngsboro Police Chief Shawn Woods. Their presence underscored a strong show of solidarity and support for the cause.

Reflecting on the day’s impact, Chief Hudon and Assistant Chief Sands shared, “We are deeply grateful to BAPS Charities for recognizing and supporting the work of our first responders. Events like these strengthen the bond between public safety professionals and the communities we serve.”

This BAPS Charities Walk-Run is one of over 100 similar events held across North America as part of a broader initiative benefiting local organizations. For over 20 years, BAPS Charities has organized more than 1,100 walks, making a meaningful impact in communities by supporting important causes and promoting a spirit of service and unity.
