Awareness talk to mark ‘World Cancer Day’ in Clifton, NJ

On Sunday, February 16, 2014 BAPS Charities organized a health awareness lecture on Breast Cancer in observance of World Cancer Day. Neelam Todi Shah, MD, a Board Certified  practicing oncologist, enlightened participants on the topic of Breast Cancer. She presented signs and symptoms to aid in early detection and the stressed the importance of regular breast exams and annual mammography.

Over 125 women of all ages participated in the event and wore pink sarees to support breast cancer awareness. After the event, Mrs. Gopi Patel, an attendee and mother of three, said, “I really appreciate BAPS Charities for organizing a lecture on the important health topic of Breast Cancer. I have been regularly attending BAPS Charities Health Lectures on various topics and they have made an impact on me and my family.”
