BAPS Charities Walk-Run 2026 in Houston, TX

  1. On April 26, 2026, BAPS Charities hosted its annual “Spirit of Service: Walk-Run” in Houston, TX, bringing together nearly 2,200 participants for a day dedicated to service, health, and community engagement. The event inspired individuals and families to support and raise awareness of several charities, including the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Greater Houston, Behind the Badge Charities, and the Stafford MSD Education Foundation, while promoting an active lifestyle and a spirit of compassion.

Participants of all ages joined the walk-run, reflecting the community’s shared commitment to giving back. The event also welcomed US Congressman Christian Menefee (TX-18) and Sugar Land Mayor Carol McCutcheon, who participated alongside volunteers and supporters to show their solidarity for the cause.

Reflecting on the impact of the event, Congressman Menefee shared, “We go on social media and we think about ourselves. We watch the news and we think about how it impacts ourselves. But sometimes we need to be focused on our neighbor, on our brother, on our sister, on our community, and that’s what this is all about.”

The BAPS Charities Spirit of Service Walk-Run is part of a nationwide initiative that includes more than 100 similar events held annually across North America, each benefiting local nonprofit organizations. For more than two decades, BAPS Charities has organized over 1,200 walks, helping strengthen communities by supporting meaningful causes while fostering a spirit of service, unity, and well-being.
