More than 1,100 participants gathered on May 30, 2026, for the annual BAPS Charities Walk-Run at ONT Field in Ontario, California, benefiting Special Olympics Southern California. Set against the scenic backdrop of the San Gabriel Mountains and hosted at the new ONT Field home of the Tower Buzzers, the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Minor League affiliate, the event brought together families, community leaders, first responders, and volunteers in celebration of service, health, and unity.

The opening ceremony featured a moving presentation of the colors and the Pledge of Allegiance led by Girl Scout Troop 14051, highlighting the spirit of patriotism and civic responsibility that defined the day.

Special Olympics Southern California Athlete Ambassadors Nikki Klepper and Brett Laza inspired attendees with their stories of perseverance, inclusion, and the transformative impact of sports. Their presence underscored the partnership between BAPS Charities and Special Olympics Southern California and reinforced the shared commitment to building communities where everyone can thrive. They kicked off the walk with the lighting of the Special Olympics torch and led the way for a high-energy walk-run.

The event was honored by the presence of numerous distinguished guests, including representatives from the Office of Congresswoman Norma Torres; Dr. K. J. Srinivasa, Consul General of India in San Francisco; California State Senator Susan Rubio; Assemblymember Robert Garcia; Assemblymember Leticia Castillo; representatives from the Office of Ontario Mayor Michelle Rodriguez; the Ontario Police Department; members of the Chino City Council; and the Ontario Fire Department. Their participation reflected the strong partnerships that help strengthen and serve the wider community.
