On May 9-10, 2026, BAPS Charities organized a basketball tournament in Toronto, Ontario, aimed at encouraging youth to stay active while fostering teamwork and a strong sense of community. The event brought together 170 participants from across Southern Ontario, creating an atmosphere of friendly competition and mutual support.
This initiative successfully brought youth together through sport, reinforcing the importance of maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle. It also created opportunities for participants to connect, have fun, and build lasting relationships within the community.
“Being part of the BAPS Charities basketball tournament was an incredible experience. It was not just about basketball, but about having fun, building friendships, and bringing youth together from across the province. The event created a positive atmosphere where everyone encouraged one another, stayed active, and strengthened their sense of community. I’m grateful to be part of an organization that creates opportunities like this for youth to connect and grow together,” said Dev Yagnik, BAPS Charities Youth Activities Lead in Toronto.
The tournament concluded with a closing ceremony, where the winning team was awarded the championship trophy. Individual recognition was also given to the Best Player, along with an award for the team that demonstrated outstanding unity and sportsmanship throughout the day.
Beyond sporting events, BAPS Charities continues to lead initiatives such as its annual Walk/Run in support of local causes and its Youth Conference, which emphasizes career guidance, leadership development, and personal growth.
