BAPS Charities SA rallies to support victims of civil unrest in KwaZulu-Natal

In the aftermath of the riots and looting which affected the Kwazulu-Natal province, individuals and organisations have worked proactively to provide much needed supplies to those affected. With the help of donors, BAPS Charities has been able to be a part of this effort.

In the first phase of its relief work, BAPS Charities has procured and dispatched 8 metric tonnes of rice and pulses, together with 1 ton of tinned beans. With our partners on the ground, these will be used for the preparation of hot meals and will also be distributed to homes in affected areas.

A total of 25 000 children’s nappies have also been handed over to NGOs with experience in this sector, for further distribution. Volunteers from BAPS Charities also joined in clean up efforts around the city of Durban, in a united effort of like-minded South Africans.
